So, within the week, ravelry are going to sort out my yarn page, reconnecting it to my account so I can update it.

As a result, the sock yarn club is going to go ahead!

Sign ups will begin on the first of may. Between now and then, I will be getting stuff ready, and I will have photos up the first club yarn ready to view by the end of April.

So excited!

The sock club will include an exclusively designed pattern, which won't be released to the public for sale until the second months club post out, giving exclusivity to the club for a whole month!

So, keep an eye on the blog and shop for photos of the May sock club, and sign ups!

Self Striping Sock Yarns.

So, many years ago, I planned to put together a self striping sock yarn club.

After much reflection, I have decided that the time has come to put this plan into action.

Once I get everything sorted with ravelry, and traffic to the shop is back to the level it was at before everything fell apart, the sock club will go ahead!

I'm very excited about this and I think it will be spectacular!

There will be one month and three month subscriptions, and recipients will get all sorts of epic treats along with their yarns.

Signups will run over the course of 2 weeks and all people will be accepted. I don't plan on limiting the number of places at this point.

2015...Indeed.

So. Its been two years. And I am finally, tentatively starting to venture back into the yarn world. Its been a rough few years. Maybe one day, I will tell you what happened. But for now, I am back.


I am currently only stocking hand spun yarns. There are a few really nice skeins in the store at the moment.

I am also unable to do custom orders at the moment, except for the spinning service. 

I hope to re-release my very popular soliloquy sock yarns eventually, but right now, I am too time poor to do the dying. :/ but I predict a change in the near future.

I also have patterns and possibly yarn bowls, needles and more coming, so keep an eye out.

My appologies

My deepest an sincerest appologies to anyone who has been adversely affected by the shop being closed. The end of last year has been a rollercoaster of disappointment and borderline poverty. After the move, money suddenly became so short I haven't had any to spare to restock the store, nore have I been able to purchase dyes to complete any orders. I have been saving and do plan to try and get things back online soon, and anyone who has been waiting will receive their order free of charge, as soon as I have more dye. I'm so sorry.

Net problems

According to Telstra, we will need to wait a further 2-3 weeks for our transfer to take place, so rhe shop will have to remain closed for that time. :( I don't ever remember things being this difficult before. And I have moved a lot. It is like Telstra is deliberately trying to lose me as a customer. But either way, I have my phone, so I can keep you all updated.

Ok, so the big move is tomorrow! as a result, the shop will be offline until we get internet back, which may not be until late next week! so, I will see you all on the flip side! wish us luck!

Sales and stuff!

OK! so a quick review of everything that has been happening! Firstly, the direct debit discount sale is finished. There is currently a last minute moving sale on in the shop where every person who orders will get a free skein of yarn and a free packet of stitch markers!

As I forgot to put this up in the blog, I will extend the sale to people who read about this on the blog until tomorrow night (as it is meant to end tonight)- so Thursday, August 23rd, until 9pm. You will have to say in the comments when you place your order that you have come form the blog, so that I can give you your free yarn. :) You will have to get in quick though as I am quickly running out of yarn!

Which brings me to my next piece of news. Once we have completed our move, I will be taking pre-orders for my very first range of self striping sock yarns! This will be done like a club, so you will get more than just yarn with your order ;) I will only have limited places available for this one, so keep your eyes peeled here on the blog, in the shop and on the facebook page for more announcements!

Postage Price Increase

Hi there!

I have some good and some bad news. Firstly the bad news is that I am putting up my domestic shipping cost. The good news is that I am doing it to include tracking. New Colour - Astrid

So the new colour Astrid is very similar to Maeb, but it is different, so I have given it  a new name to stop confusion. Astrid is a repeatable colour and can be dyed on any of the base yarns I have. The yarns below are ready to go now.

I will try and post up whenever I add a new colourway to the store. The newest colour is mottled shades of grey. I have called this yarn Halldorr, which is a Norse name meaning Thor's Rock. All the below yarns are available in the shop. :) It was interesting seeing the way the same dye job turned out on the different yarn bases. :) Hope you like them.

Soliloquy Worsted

So, I've been experimenting with this new fan-dangled Non-superwash worsted, and seeing how it felts up. I am really happy with the results. I dyed up a skein in the soliloquy colour 'druid' and made a project bag. I am not any kind of expert at felting, but it seemed to felt up pretty well with the treatment I gave it. I think someone with more experience could easily felt it up better than I. I have been using the bag too, and it is quite good. overall i think it has been a successful experiment. i am currently making some balls with the left over yarn from the bag, to post in the listings for the yarn. looking pretty good so far. :)


Overall, i've come to the conclusion that this new yarn would be well suited to things like jumpers and other outer wear items, bags, slippers, blankets etc. It seems to me to be a good sort of basic yarn.

Shoppe Update

I have some new yarns to go up in the store. So far I have been having some issues getting photos that properly represent the colours of some of the skeins. :/ I need to invest in a light box. :P Next on the list I suppose. I will need to sell more yarn first. :P Otherwise, the yarn is looking nice. There is some 2 ply sock, and some MCN sock. All in solid and semi solid colours. I will be adding more in the next few weeks. Hope people like these colours. Most of these yarns should be repeatable too as I took special care to record many of the dye combinations. It also means that if you see something you like, I can dye you custom quantities in any of the yarns I have in stock. :)

A beautiful day for Custom Orders.

Today, I woke up nice and early, with a very good feeling. There was a beautiful sunrise...



Then, I got this feeling that I shouldn't go to uni today because I just KNEW that my packages were all going to arrive today...and low and behold, they did!



CUSTOM ORDERS ARE NOW BACK ON!

I am now taking custom orders of 2 ply sock, MCN sock, Superwash DK merino, Merino Worsted, MCN Aran, DK Half and Half silky merino and BFL Aran.

It's Showtime!

So, I entered 4 hanks of hand spun in this year's New England Show, and I one two first place positions, in 5 ply and 8 ply. :) Feeling pretty good.
